Spent 1 week in Salta and booked 3 activities/tours with Francisco at MTB salta including a 1/2 day mountain biking, more of a sightseeing trip but great way to get out of the city (forest area ~12k north of Salta) and learn about the Flora&fauna also after some gentle persuasion he let us cycle our bikes back into the city outskirts to take in some more scenery on 2 wheels :-) all went well and as planned. other trips were horse riding and a overnight tour to Cafayate and back. Would recommend dropping in to MTB salta if your passing through as Francisco is a good guy to deal with and might give you some discounts if you ask nicly… |

Basically Franco and Nacho with MTB took me and and an argentinian couple out for an awesome ride through the parco nationale de cardone and the surrounding area near Cachi. It was like being on a ride with a small group of friends except the guides knew heaps about the area and were always ensuring our safety. We did the half day rainforest circuit which was slightly challenging due to the sun and heat, but this was not a problem as Francisco ensured that we were comfortable at all times. He instinctively knows when people need to rest. The ride was interesting and exciting. Francisco's English is perfect and his knowledge of the environment is excellent. The tour and the way in which it is run is exactly as described on the MTB website. Lunch was also very enjoyable which gave us the opportunity to get to know Francisco and our other two young Argentinian companions a little better. This is an excellent tour which anyone who can ride a bike can enjoy, thanks to the professionalism and patience of Francisco. |
I did the Rainforest circuit today with Francisco, just one other person in the group. Francisco specialises in running small personal groups and his interaction really makes a great mountain biking experience into the best way to spend a morning in Salta.
It's real off road mountain biking (well they are theoretically roads, but not like anything i have ever seen before apart from the vehicle tracks of the Atlas moutnains in Morocco).
The storm the previous night may have helped to make this a bit more technical than usual, and a lot wetter than some, but i loved it and recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy some mountain biking while staying in Salta. |

Francisco arrived promtly at nine to pick me up from the hostel. From there we picked up the gear and headed out to the rainforest for the trip. Although the trip was quite physical for the first part, as long as you have had some breakfast you should have the energy.
Due to the time of the year, the scenary was quite dry but none the less beautiful. The downhill sections of the trip were good fun and i felt safe at all times. Francisco spoke excellent englishand conveyed his extensive local knowledge of flora, fauna and geology particularly well.
Definately worth doing and would certainly consider if I had the time doing another tour with him. Bike Salta |

I took the "Jungle Tour." This was a great afternoon out. I was the only one on the tour. The afternoon was hot and I was out of breath several times. Francisco was patient and adapted to course so I did not pass out but still saw a variety of things on the route. He was chatty and pleasant and knew a lot about Salta and the animals, people and foliage along the way. He had snacks and water for me as well. I would absolutely do this again. I suggest to do this experience to be in contact with the nature and climate of the surrounding of Salta. Francisco is a very kind and expert boy and he speaks different languages to make you feel comfortable. I have made Bull and Rainforest circuits...very exciting.

We did a half day tour. The bikes were great and in excellent condition. We were very satisfied with Francisco, our guide. He was flexible in changing the path to be as easy or challenging as we’d like and incorporating specific sites we were interested in seeing. During the path itself (yugos tour) you won't see amazing sites as in other places of
Salta. But we want it to do something different, a bit of exercises. It was great for that. Furthermore, Francisco was very knowledgeable about Salta and was able to answer all of our questions; about the history, nature and attractions in the region. |

We had a 'free-day" in Salta with nothing planned by our tour operator. We had already seen all that was to be seen in Salta, so we checked out tripadvisor.com for a suggestion. Seeing that MTB was #1, we decided to inquire about a 1/2 day adventure.
Francisco was our contact from our initial meeting to our mountain bike adventure and I feel as though we couldn't have been in better hands! Francisco was great!
The booking process was simple. We went to MTB's storefront and discussed our options with Francisco, who was happy to speak English or Spanish with us. We didn't need to pay entirely upfront-he allowed us to simply pay a deposit and allowed us to pay the remaining balance on the day of the excursion.
We opted for the half-day "rainforest" adventure and it was fantastic! The trail was perfect-not too difficult, but enough to feel like you got a workout, and it was nice to get out into nature.
The half-day excursion was the perfect amount of time for us. Just as we started to get tired, our excursion had come to an end.

the rainforrest tour with Francisco in the Salta Province in NW Argentina was purely amazing. Francisco is a fun guide, Landscape impressive, bikes in good conditions.
The day before, the area was hit by very heavy rainfalls. Nevertheless, the tour took place which made this tour really special. We crossed rivers, were riding over particularily muddy tracks and it was a lot of fun. |
I booked a private one day tour with MTB Salta to do the Cuesta del Obispo downhill ride on Christmas Eve. This was because they were not running any group tours for the few days I could make. Francisco was good to deal with by email
On the day itself, Francisco and his colleague, Nacho, picked me up from the nearby ranch (Sayta Ranch - see other review that my wife is going to do at some point) at which we were staying in their 4x4. It was then a 2+ hour drive to the top of the mountain from where we would start the ride. Francisco and Nacho were good company throughout the ride and helpful with stopping to let me take photos when I wanted to (I like to take photos as well as ride!)
The weather on the day was slightly cool/windy and overcast but that did not stop me enjoying the ride. It was a real blast and, whilst I also enjoyed the slightly more technical/cautious section on the gravel road, I particularly enjoyed being able to let loose on the asphalt road section further down the mountained which allowed you to go a lot faster!! I am no expert but the bikes seemed very good and helmets were of course supplied. Also, Francisco, who drove the 4x4 behind me and Nacho on the bikes, very kindly took a load of photos for me when he could as we rode down the mountain.
Everything was then rounded off with a pleasant lunch stop near the bottom of the mountain before I was dropped off back at Sayta ranch.
I would definitely recommend MTB Salta to anyone thinking of doing any biking in Salta. I felt it was good value still at the private tour rate at which I had to book it and it would certainly have been excellent value if I had been able to book onto the cheaper group rate. |

Para quien esta acostumbrado a pedalear por el llano, el paisaje y el recorrido no tienen desperdicio. Por otra parte las bicicletas son muy apropiadas y el acompañamiento de Francisco hace las cosas muy faciles.

Salta hat eine schoene Umgebung, die sich mit dem Fahrrad sehr angenehm erkunden laesst. Ich war allein und in der Nebensaison unterwegs und viele Agenturen baten nur Touren mit dem Auto an. MTB hatte mir zunaechst auch gesagt dass sie mindestens zwei Teilnehmer brauchen. Als dann aber kein zweiter fuer die Halbtagstour zustandekam haben sie mir die Tour trotzdem zum gleichen Preis angeboten, offensichtlich auch weil der Fuehrer selbst Lust hatte Fahrrad zu fahren, was schon ein schoener Anfang war. Das Fahrrad war gut und MTB hat sich um Anfahrt und alles drum herum gekuemmert, war ein schoener Tag! MTB Reviews |

A friend and I had a great afternoon with Francisco guiding us around the forest circuit. Francisco is very friendly, speaks great English and is really knowledgable about the area. We were picked up and dropped of at our hostel, and spend about 2.5 hours cycling (apparently we were going quite fast!). The bikes were in fantastic condition - he keeps the good ones for the tours and doesn't rent them out! Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for some fun exercise in the countryside around Salta. |
